i'm five-five, one hundred and twenty five pounds. the most i've ever weighed is one forty five point five. the least i've ever weighed is ninety nine. but still, my first thoughts, upon waking every morning,
are about how fat i am or will be if i don't watch myself. that's why i read these wls forums, sites and blogs. i really wonder if i self-pay if there's some way i could convince a surgeon about the lap band.

no sane person would give someone like you a lap band. try talking to someone? you also should not obsess over sites like these when you do not need to.

You really should try to talk to someone. If you did try to have WLS there is no way you would pass the psych evaluation. You need to get into therapy. There are so much more important things to worry about. I know it doesn't seem like it to you but there are so many worse things than being overweight. You are the only person putting this pressure on yourself. What are you avoiding by focusing on this so much?

As someone who has had wls I find posts like this almost offensive. 145 at 5'5" is still not at all fat. When you've weighed over 345, then you can talk about wls. There is no way any doctor, not even in Mexico, would ever do WLS or Lap-Band on you, not when you're only 145. That's the docs that don't require a psych eval.. you'd never pass that.

WLS doesn't fix what's going on in your head, dear. The US Marine Corps physical standards, which are very rigid, are 114-150 pounds for a 5'5" woman. If you were at 99 pounds deliberately, you have a mental/image issue that no amount of weight loss and/or WLS can help. Please get SERIOUS counseling, if you read this.

125....and you want the lapband...sorry honey, get a therapist not a Bariatric doc. The problem is in your head.
