I am 3 days away from getting lapband surgery and I've been not doing so well on the whole protein shake diet thing that I'am suppose to be doing, by not so well I mean really terrible, sneaking food when no ones around, hiding some where with a piece of pizza is not how I invisioned my life to end up, I'am sad all the time thinking about the first time I drive past a McDonalds after my surgery and my auto pilot kicks in, or the first time I have to tend bar and and someone asks me if I would like to have a chicken wing, onion ring or french fry, I just know that I am gonna' flip out and lose my mind, guess I should have been a little more up front with the clinical psychologist, but if that would have happened, I would have never gotten the chance to go through this wonderful procedure now would I?

If you are pretty sure you will flip out and lose your mind, why didn't you tell the psychologist the full truth? The band is a tool, not a magic cure, and you're going to have to seriously change your habits.
Now would be a good time to start.

Listen, if you are not mentally ready to take this leap... DO NOT DO IT! Why go through surgery only to fail. It is NOT easy afterward. The first few weeks our are down right hard mentally and physically. Postpone the surgery a month or two or twelve, until you are there.

You are facing the same fear that everyone faces before surgery. Yes, you will have to change you habits but the lap band is a great tool and it will help. Get some extra help with your head and you'll be fine...
