My surgeon usually runs his support group. This month, he left and a NUT and the hospital bariatric coordinator ran it. They said Flintstones are okay. I raised my hand to protest. They blew me off. Said "some surgeons" are saying children's chewables are OK because they are better absorbed. I *know* this is wrong. I want to cause a fuss. But the last time I spoke up, I became the support group pariah.
At what point do people listen to you ? I'm 3 years out, and the "old-timers" consider me a newbie who should shut up. It makes me want to scream. Especially when I see the "bariatric coordinator - who had RNY - regaining her weight but telling us all, no matter the surgery, how to eat - low fat, no sugar, processed food crap.
